Sustainable Material Usage

Choosing FSC®-Certified Wood:

FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) certification ensures that the wood used is harvested from responsibly managed forests. SD Woodentoy exclusively uses FSC®-certified wood, guaranteeing not only environmental friendliness but also a traceable origin that supports local communities and preserves ecosystems.

Utilizing Renewable Energy and Conserving Resources

SD Woodentoy maximizes the use of leftover materials in the production process. We repurpose wood scraps and sawdust as fuel for drying kilns, helping to minimize waste and optimize resource usage.

Additionally, SD Woodentoy installed 880 solar panels in April 2020, covering an area of 3,500m². This system supplies up to 50% of the factory’s total energy consumption, significantly reducing carbon emissions and energy costs, showcasing our commitment to clean and sustainable energy.

Emission and Pollution Reduction

Emissions Control: To protect worker health and the environment, SD Woodentoy invested in a modern emissions treatment system for the painting process in 2020. This system not only ensures a safe working environment but also significantly reduces the amount of emissions released into the environment.

Dust Control: In 2022, we upgraded our central dust collection system, capable of collecting 2 tons of wood dust daily and filtering out 95% of fine dust. This ensures a clean, safe working environment, improves air quality within the factory, and drastically reduces the release of fine dust into the environment.

Waste Sorting and Management Policies

SD Woodentoy is currently assessing the impact of plastic waste and is committed to reducing the volume of plastic waste in production. We have established specific waste sorting regulations within the company and are aiming for larger goals in waste processing and recycling.

SD Woodentoy has implemented strict waste sorting policies to manage and reduce environmental impact. Household waste at the company is categorized into regular and hazardous waste. Regular waste, including easily biodegradable organic waste and recyclable inorganic waste, is properly collected and processed. For hazardous waste like paint-soaked rags and medical waste, the company sorts and stores them in a designated area.

Scrap materials such as iron filings and defective metal parts are collected and sold for recycling, contributing to waste reduction and resource optimization.
